6. WHAT MAKES ACELERO LEARNING DIFFERENT? WHY SHOULD I ENROLL MY CHILD?
Acelero Learning was founded in 2002 to bring an outcomes-focused approach to managing and supporting Head Start programs. Our mission is to bring a relentless focus on positive child and family outcomes to close the Achievement Gap and build a better future for children, families, and communities served by the Head Start program.
Students tested after two years in our programs reach gains that are nearly double those of best national sample on the Peabody Picture Vocabulary Test (PPVT). These are among the largest-known recorded gains for a Head Start program.
7. DO YOUR CENTERS HAVE DISABILITY SERVICES?
All of our programs have Early Learning Disability Specialists who work directly with children who have disabilities and their families. We work in conjunction with the local Part C or LEA (which work with children with disabilities) to ensure that all children receive the necessary, identified services.
8. DO YOU PROVIDE EXTENDED DAY SERVICES?
Yes. Many of our centers offer wrap-around services that allow you to drop off your child as early as 7:00 AM and pick up as late as 6:00 PM, during 49 weeks of the year. For a full listing of centers that offer extended day services, please visit your local center's page.
9. What is Head Start?
Head Start is a federally funded program supported by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services that provides comprehensive early childhood education, health, nutrition, and parent involvement services to low-income children and their families. Learn more here.
10. What is the Achievement Gap?
Research shows that by the time children begin kindergarten, significant differences in literacy already exist between children from low-income families and their peers from middle and high-income families. On average, children from low-income families show less developed skills in the areas necessary for success in kindergarten and beyond.
